Welcome to LAHM International!
Love and Hope Ministries (LAHM) is a humanitarian support group which was founded in September 2003 in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies by Mrs. Mabel Wood, a business woman with a strong philanthropic spirit.
In the summer of 2004, a group of friends and family living in New York established LAHM International. The primary purpose of LAHM International is to provide financial support to LAHM in Jamaica through the fundraising efforts by its members and friends all over the world.
The mission of LAHM International is to raise funds which will be used to provide humanitarian support to guarantee a better quality of life for at risk children including those who have lost one or both parents to HIV/Aids or gang violence.
Most of the children being served presently, reside in a few poor areas of Kingston and Spanish Town in Jamaica. Many of these children attend school without eating the most important meals; breakfast and lunch. They are in dire need of moral support and help with a wholesome meal, school supplies such as books, pencils, school bags as well as appropriate foot wear and clothing for school.
Our mission seeks to raise over one million US dollars annually which would help to expand this project to a greater number of needy children throughout Jamaica and eventually to other Caribbean Islands such as Haiti.
LAHM is currently providing services to these children in the form of counseling, feeding, and school supplies as well as securing improved medical services for those at risk. In addition to serving children, LAHM also provides food supplies as well as counseling services to needy adults and needy Geriatric population in residential homes.
